Gettysburg was part of a family trip, not a dedicated photography expedition. I knew I wanted to document it, but I also knew there wasn't much to actually document. A lot of open fields, monuments, and stories. It's hard to photograph a place like that without just making snapshots of monuments and fields.
I thought infrared might be a respectful way to bring some of that weight into the frame without overexplaining it. We were on the self-guided driving tour, and I wasn't feeling much inspiration until I did. Then I had fun with it while still keeping the family exploration angle intact.
The result is The Gettysburg Session. 11 images, now physically up in my gallery at 123 S 8th St, Noblesville, IN 46060!
